ClearPeople implements SharePoint Document Management System for Law firm Winckworth Sherwood

SharePoint® Document Management System (DMS) streamlines workflows and increases fee-earner productivity
25 January 2011. ClearPeople, the leading provider of SharePoint document management solutions for legal firms, was selected by Winckworth Sherwood to replace its legacy DMS with a customised SharePoint DMS.
ClearPeople worked in partnership with Winckworth Sherwood’s IT team to deploy the new SharePoint DMS in its Private Client Department in mid-2010 before now commencing a company-wide rollout in January 2011.
The new SharePoint DMS stores, shares and manages the law firm’s growing volume and variety of electronic document types including email, drawings, plans and PDF files. Users can now quickly find and retrieve documents through customised MS Office and SharePoint search facilities. Crucial for most users, the solution offers a tight and intuitive integration into Outlook enabling drag-and-drop of emails, attachments and files from the file system. Team collaboration is also enhanced by leveraging, for example, SharePoint Team Sites within Outlook.
Christel Aguila, Head of IT at Winckworth Sherwood, comments: “The capabilities of our bespoke DMS, which we had been using for the past 12 years, were being stretched, especially when creating and sharing different file types; this was affecting the productivity of both fee earners and support staff. We required a more flexible DMS with strong email handling capabilities and the ability to manage different electronic file types.”

Staff in Winckworth Sherwood’s Private Client Department were the first to move to the new system and is now being rolled out across all of Winckworth Sherwood’s staff in three UK offices: London, Oxford and Cheltenham.
