When you put your website together chances are that you did it as a way to generate more leads and increase your revenue. But what if you have found that your website isn’t doing as well as you hoped?

You need to make sure that your visitors know what they need to do next, whether it is look a particular page or get in touch. Having these as a gentle reminder are great for generating some conversions and gaining some more interest in your business. If your site is an e-commerce site, make the buying process as simple as possible.

Your website isn’t user friendly

You might understand your messy and cluttered website, but will your customers? Try to make your website as easy to understand and navigate as possible, as this is only going to increase the user experience and make sure that they want to carry on clicking through.

Your web copy isn't focusing on your customers

If you think about it in the most basic form, your customers are visiting your website because they need something from you. This means that the content and media that you use on the site should always be geared towards the customer, not you. This can be tricky to achieve, as you want to tell them why you are a  great choice, but reminding them of the issue that they have could be all you need to get them to make a booking or buy your product.

With so many of us turning to our smartphones and tablets to surf and shop, there really is no excuse not to be mobile friendly. Searching for a website, only to find that you can’t view it unless you are on a computer can be disappointing, and for a business it really isn’t that hard to set up a responsive website that will work across a number of platforms.

So, now you know some of the reasons, it needn’t be a mystery why your website isn’t working. Instead, there are likely to be a few reasons that you can try and rectify and in time at all you will have a beautifully functioning website that will work perfectly for you and your business.
