Dos and don’ts of sending press releases

DO…

…ensure that the release is relevant to the publication you’re targeting

…make it clear in the subject line of your email what this release is about

…keep you précis of the release short and to the point

…try and make your précis relevant to the journalist or publication you’re targeting

DON’T…

…send an email with the subject line “PRESS RELEASE” (or with an empty subject line)

…send your release as an attachment (always put the release in the body of the email)
